À propos de l'événement
If digital technologies are often presented as a solution for the ecological transition, the results are not yet there: their carbon footprint is estimated to be increasing by 9% per year. Digital sobriety refers to an approach that encourages moderate use of digital technologies and raises awareness of the carbon footprint of this sector, particularly in terms of energy consumption. It applies at the level of companies and public administrations, but also—and perhaps above all—at the individual level, where the reduction of unnecessary consumption takes shape. Digital sobriety is not a negative approach of renunciation, but rather a positive approach of reduction, through prioritizing our real needs.
Here are the questions we will address:
- Does digital technology generate greenhouse gas emissions?
- How can you assess the carbon footprint of your IT department?
- What are the main sources of emissions within an IT department?
- What responsible procurement policies can be adopted?
- Can a circular economy strategy be applied to IT equipment
- Establishing an emissions reduction plan
- How to implement responsible digital solutions?
- Raising team awareness about responsible digital practices
