The health crisis has exposed the weaknesses of our contemporary societies. The pursuit of low-cost production often comes at the expense of health and environmental considerations, while the acceleration of trade and tourism reflects the globalized world we live in. Our dependence on supply chains spread across the globe has become evident—but are short supply chains (or local sourcing) the only solution? How can approaches such as the circular economy or regenerative thinking be integrated into the business models that will shape the future?
