KYIV IS A PARTY

To mark the release of his documentary Kyiv is a Celebration, Max Laulom presents a project that explores a contemporary reality: how do young people in Ukraine continue to party in times of war?

Shot entirely on an iPhone and conceived as a documentary vlog, the film follows—over two episodes—the trajectories of Hanna, Petya, and Olena. Between rupture and continuity, their stories reflect a generation confronted with conflict, for whom partying becomes a space for connection, expression, and the preservation of a collective spirit.

The documentary’s launch will take place at La Caserne, in the presence of Hanna and Olena, who have come from Kyiv to carry the echo of a still-active techno scene. The screening will be followed by a 4-hour set.
